  • BOAS Surgery

BOAS, brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome, is a cause of upper airway obstruction in brachycephalic breeds. The most commonly affected dogs tend to be the smaller short-nose breeds, such as Pugs, French Bulldogs, English Bulldogs and Boston Terriers. Signs to look out for include exercise intolerance, gagging and loud noisy breathing. BOAS surgery is routinely performed at Medivet Kensington by our surgeon, VK and aided by nurses who have undertaken additional training in anaesthesia.

Book an appointment with any of the vets to discuss whether your dog would benefit from the procedure.

  • Laparoscopic neutering

Vanesa was really professional and treated our dog very gently. She examined her really patently and calmly. We came awfully worried and Vanesa calmed us down with her excellent job. I strongly recommend coming here if you have any worries about your dog.

Me and my flatmate found a very distressed and injured bird that we tried to help (in Chalk Farm) about 8pm. When we realised we couldn’t help untangle it ourselves we called many places looking for help and no one would accept the ‘exotic animal’. I just want to say a huge thank you to this vets who accepted to take a look. Unfortunately the bird did have to be put down, but I’m very thankful because it would have been a very long night of suffering for the bird if they hadn’t helped us, not to mention very distressing for me and my flatmate. Thank you to the team who handled this with care and answered my questions the next morning to confirm the sweet baby was put to sleep

Kynance Veterinary was so wonderful. I’m so thrilled to be a new client. They treated my kitten so sweetly and they were very kind to me as well. She’s going to be a healthy cat I hope, and I’m very grateful to have this care available.

Disappointing overall. While there are occasionally good vets (like Dr. Seul or other senior staff), the quality of care is inconsistent. If you visit out of hours, you just have to hope you don’t end up with a fresh graduate. They’ve also stopped replying to important emails more than once. If you’re waiting for a referral, expect delays — especially since the appointment isn’t with them. The same goes for travel documents; sometimes, they just stop responding altogether. For anything outside of 24-hour emergencies, I’d recommend using a local vet. It’s a shame — I initially thought Medivet was great and ignored my friends’ warnings.

I have so much gratitude and appreciation for everyone that works here. Everyone is both highly professional and kind - when my cat had to do an overnight stay for the first time in 12 years due to illness and I was a wreck, every person I interacted with was comforting, assuring I could call at any time during the night to get an update on him - and even though it had clearly been an ordeal, he came home relaxed, which showed that he had been treated very well. Every vet we’ve seen here has been highly knowledgeable, and both very helpful to me and very sweet with my cat. The people who work on the reception and phones are always friendly and helpful, and his medication always comes through quickly. In his 13 years, this is the best clinic we’ve been to - 10/10 would recommend!

Lovely staff and Vet but the meds and vitamins are VERY OVER priced. As your in a desperate situation to heal your animal you feel you have no choice, it’s extortionate. Making you feel taken advantage of
