Vesi Trufcheva

Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified as veterinary surgeon in 2006 from Trakia University, Bulgaria and I have been fortunate to work in EU and UK veterinary practices, which gave me broad experience of different professional and cultural approaches to veterinary policies and care. I have been working as a small animal vet in the UK since 2010. I have completed a rotational internship at a Referral Hospital and I have worked in independent and corporate practices, for the last 5 years as a senior vet at Medivet Acton. I have a particular interest in surgery and feline medicine. As a strong believer in the importance of team and personal development, I qualified as a clinical coach to support nursing training process, I have also mentored EMS students and supported junior vets with on-the-job training. As part of my ongoing personal development, I have been involved in clinical research and have presented an abstract at the ECVS annual scientific meeting. In 2023 I have been elected as BVA Council regional representative for London.

Really great staff. The vet was able to give our cat a good check over in his annual check-up, including his teeth (which our previous vet was never able to do with him).

I called to book an appointment for my cat and was met with a receptionist with an attitude. When I asked her if she was well, she said flippantly yes and abruptly repeated: "How can I help?". At this point I said I didn't think you could and disconnected. I feel they make you a favour that they can book you at all. I normally go to Chiswick to the vet's but because this practice is just round the corner, it is obviously more convenient. Having seem other unfavorable comments, I think it's best to avoid them.

Excellent in every sense of the word. Highly skilled professional and auxiliary staff, good range of services and animal products, good transport links too. I noted on this visit, the display of goods was not as comprehensive as my visit in February - this does not detract , but hoping its a temporary issue. It's a busy practice but consultations are thorough and the Drs listen to you. Nursing staff equally are knowledgeable and are able to give answers to queries or tell you directly to raise matter with the Vet. I have no complaints about the level of service I've received. I only wish that the pet boarding service would be reinstated. APRIL 2025 🏅🏆🏅

I wanted to share my disappointing experience with MediVet in Acton. We were excited to register at this vet as it is close to our house. I had registered my puppy a few weeks ago in anticipation of booking his his first appt and second vaccinations. I went in person and the receptionist had asked for dates he had his first vaccinations and we landed on the 10th Apr being the date he needed his second jabs. I called the day prior (9th) to confirm the appt as I had not heard anything. I was then told that the appt was not actually on the 10th, it was scheduled for the 16th, which was news to me and that there was no room to fit us in for the remainder of the week. I then found out that he HAD to get his jabs on the 10th as we would have had to start the process all over again! I scrambled around to register at another vet to get an appt in, which luckily another local vet was able to fit us in on the 10th. The receptionist at MediVet then called me and said that she "just wanted the week to end" when I had asked her how she was. She said that they would be able to fit us in, but only at 5pm on the 10th. I then stated that I was pretty disappointed with the situation and we could have had a puppy stuck inside for another 8 weeks because of this scheduling mistake. I said we were going to another vet and she said that "it is good we're going to another vet as they already have enough clients." This comment was extremely rude and unprofessional. I would avoid this practice.

Lovely warm welcome from the receptionist and vet nurse. The Vet herself was super informative and gave very detailed advice and explanations of what she was doing and what needs doing. Could do with some cosmetic refurbishment but I'm sure Nala my cat did not notice...
