Client Care Assistant

I have been employed with Medivet since January 2021. This was a big career change from my previous job of 25 years in Local Government but I am enjoying working with animals, their owners and the challenges each new day brings. I am originally from Luton and I have a degree in Child & Adolescence Studies. It was important to me to raise my four daughters with animals to learn the importance of responsibility, respect, empathy and compassion for all living things. Over 35 years in the family home we had 3 Rottweilers, a Labrador, a Shih tzu, a staffy, 3 cats, numerous hamsters, corn snakes, geckos and bearded dragons. More recently I shared my life with an adorable Border Terrier, named Jeff, having moved on to my narrowboat in Bedford Marina. I thoroughly enjoy living so close to nature, sharing breakfast with the swans 🙂. Outside of work I am kept busy with my 2 young grandchildren, on the committee of a motorcycle club, renovatating the boat, shooting (only clays) arts & crafts plus I love socialising, BBQs and live festival music.

We have been with medivet in Marston for a long time, and we absolutely loved the staff working in there and the care given to our loved ones. Now we are with medivet Clapham and the vets and all the staff working there are amazing too. We are lucky to have medivet taking such a good care of our Frenchies. Thank you medivet staff.

I’ve been with Medivet for years and never had any issues until moving to the Bedford Clapham clinic. They book appointments just 15 minutes apart and are constantly running late. My latest experience was extremely disappointing. I had an appointment at 16:15 and called to let them know I was running five minutes late. When I arrived, the vet was still with the previous appointment, so I assumed everything was fine. The next appointment hadn’t arrived yet, and all I needed was a quick prescription for pain management for my older dog. We waited until 16:30, only to be told the vet wouldn’t see us because we were late — even though the next patient still hadn’t arrived by the time we left. The lack of flexibility and compassion was frustrating, especially considering the circumstances. After this experience, I won’t be returning to Medivet.
