Branch Partner and Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated from Liverpool University in 2009 and spent eight years in a small practice in North Wales before moving to Shropshire in 2016. I also have certificates in internal medicine and dermatology as these are areas of veterinary care I particularly enjoy, and of course caring for your pets and making a positive impact on their lives! At home I have two children, Austin and Alice, whom I love spending quality time with.

Veterinary Surgeon

I spent three years at Liverpool Veterinary school studying Bioveterinary science before returning to complete my Veterinary degree at Nottingham veterinary school back in 2006. I graduated as a qualified vet in 2011. I've spent the majority of my career working in mixed and small animal practice, in Powys, Shropshire and Carmarthenshire. However I have also worked in human health care as a Covid vaccinator in 2022 alongside my small animal locum vet work. I'd like to think I'm a good all rounder first opinion GP vet but I have a particular interest in behaviour and training. Eventually when time allows, I'd like to work towards a certificate in internal medicine or small animal behaviour or both! I have worked for Medivet in various capacities through my career but I am thrilled to have taken on a new permanent position at Medivet Sutton Farm. As a single mum to three gorgeous, yet sometimes trying children, time is often not a luxury I can afford but my favourite child (my Labrador Dora) is my constant companion so you may well see us both on a brisk lunchtime walk. Both the veterinary team and clients I have met have been both welcoming and supportive and I look forward to meeting many more.

Head Veterinary Nurse

I joined Medivet as PCA in 2017 and joined the Sutton Farm family in early 2018, where I attended Rodbaston college and qualified as a veterinary nurse. I am now the head veterinary nurse here at Sutton Farm and in this role I oversee various aspects of the practice, including patient care, mentoring new staff and ensure smooth operation of the clinic. At home I have a cat called Tiny Tim as well as my two crazy cockerpoos Carlos and Nora who keep me occupied in my spare time with outdoor adventures or simply cuddling on the sofa.

I started working for Medivet in October 2017 as a patient care assistant. I became permanent with the Sutton farm family in July 2019 where I began my veterinary nursing training and then qualified in June 2022. I enjoy all aspects of my job but my main interest is being in theatre and monitoring anaesthetics. I am currently working towards my certificate in anaesthesia to gain more knowledge and confidence and to ensure I can give patients the gold standard of care. At home I am kept very busy by my 3 miniature dachshunds; Cooper, Harper and Ettie and I have recently become a mum to my son Dougie. We love nothing more than a family day outdoors.

Hi! I’m Cerys, and I’ve been working at Sutton farm for about 2 years. I began as a PCA, before embarking on my journey to become an RVN (hopefully graduating in 2025). I am lucky to be the parent of a very fluffy and often grumpy rag doll named Dexter, whom I practice many of my nursing skills upon (he doesn’t mind as long as he is compensated for his time with treats)! There are many things I love about working at the vets, but I am particularly fascinated by radiography and surgery!

I joined the Sutton Farm family in July 2023 as a patient care assistant and will soon be going on to study veterinary nursing as I have always had a passion caring for pets and contributing to their health and happiness! At home I have a crazy cockerpoo called Bob who keeps me entertained with his silly nature as well as Joe the cat who is very relaxed and likes a nap. In my spare time you'll find me in the dance studio or strumming away on my guitar.

I graduated with a degree in veterinary nursing from Nottingham Trent University in July 2023 and joined the team soon after. I enjoy consulting, particularly nurse clinics to support owners whose pets suffer from long term conditions. I have a soft spot for cats- especially older or grumpy ones, as well as exotic animals of all species. Outside of work I am kept busy by my two cats Ziggy & Bailey and my senior rabbit Oreo.

Patient Care Assistant

I have had a huge passion for animals for as long as I can remember, especially dogs. From school, I went straight to a local agricultural college and studied animal care for 3 years. After this, I went on to qualify as a dog groomer at the age of 20. I have mainly worked in kennels & catteries, animal rescue centres, and mobile dog grooming. I have been a strict vegetarian since the age of 17. I live with my little Jack Russell Alfie and my 18 year old Quaker Parrot called Baby. I have very recently started as a Patient Care Assistant at Medivet and I absolutely love it!

I’ve always had a passion for animals, especially for their well-being and to care for them. This is why I went on to study Animal Management at college which increased my motivation even more to start a career in the veterinary field! At home I have a handsome cat called Ned who always causes mischief! I am loving my journey so far as a Patient Care assistant.

Client Care Assistant

Hi, I'm Tracey! I'm currently working as a client care assistant at Sutton Farm where I joined the team in March 2023. An aspect of my role I particularly enjoy is the opportunity to interact with clients and their pets to ensure they are provided with the best care. And let's not forget about the puppy cuddles – they're undoubtedly one of the highlights of my day! My hobbies are reading books, going out for meals or travelling on holiday!

  • Barney the Brave

Young Barney came to see Emma when he wasn’t able to bare any weight on his front right leg. It doesn’t take a vet to be able to see the issue on Barney’s x-ray!

Due to the nature of the break, and the potential complications this could have for Barney in the future, it was decided that it would be in Barney’s best interests to amputate his poorly leg. We are happy to report that Barney is getting on amazingly well on his remaining three legs, and is now back to his usual self, able to run around and wreak havoc with his brothers and sisters!

Pet Advice You Can Trust

What our clients say

Here's just an example of some of the heartwarming feedback we've received from our valued clients.

"Since Lucy was 12 years old she has had dementia which has meant she became more reliant on their care with different health issues.

Over the last two years, it has been great to get the advice from Laura Medlicott about what adjustments could be made to make Lucy's life easier. Emma and the team worked with us giving us advice and ideas to help Lucy cope with the changes as well as medication to help with her deterioration of dementia.

Right throughout Emma and the team listened to our concerns and always delivered an outstanding level of care to Lucy; even when she was put to sleep, they made our loss as special as they could.

The moment I was dreading was not as bad as I thought it would be, we got a real comfort from it and it was nice knowing that she had people she was familiar with in the final moments of life and she had her final cuddles from the staff before she was set free over the Rainbow Bridge, so for this I would like Sutton Farm to get the best recognition they can get as they fully well deserve it."

Team at the practice from vets, vet nurses to reception team are always very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Clear insightful information and treatments options are always provided. I love this practice and the team they always make me and my dog feel welcome, safe, involved and personally invested in my dogs well being. With the rise in vets bills, providing direct claim payments are very welcome and enable me to focus on what my dog needs and care plan rather than worrying about upfront costs. Can’t recommend this practice enough.

I’d like to thank Emma and her team for all the help given to our dog Bobby who was in for extensive dental treatment. Bobby is a really nervous dog and only recently lost his forever pal due to another vets practice wrong diagnosis. He’s struggled with the loss of Harry as we all have, so the care given by Emma and her team was so needed. I cried outside after leaving him so when the nurse called to keep us informed on how Bobby was doing it was so much appreciated. I’d recommend Emma and her lovely team to anyone looking for love and care of their beloved family pet.
